IBM Corporation IBM has partnered with China Telecom Corp. Ltd. CHA for accelerating mobile enterprise adoption by Chinese businesses.

Per the agreement, joint customers can leverage IBM’s iOS-based MobileFirst Platform to build and integrate enterprise apps that will be hosted on China Telecom's cloud.

In Jul 2014, Apple AAPL partnered with IBM to develop enterprise class software and services under a new project — IBM MobileFirst — for iOS. The platform allows companies to develop mobile apps for boosting the efficiency of enterprises while connecting the firm with its customers in a more hassle-free way. The enterprise-class cloud offering aids app-building through all stages from inception to deployment and management as well.

The partnership will allow both established organizations and start-ups in China to customize and manage the apps using the cloud platform of China Telecom, the largest IDC/cloud service provider in the region. The cloud-based enterprise applications will not only be cost-effective and secure but will also be scalable. Additionally, the businesses will be able to drive growth and improve customer engagement thorough the advanced mobile and cloud offerings.

Both IBM and China Mobile seem well-positioned to gain from this partnership given the exponential growth of mobile Internet and cloud-based technology, which makes this mobile transformation crucial for companies in China. Most of all, the growing number of iOS users in China is a positive for this partnership. In the last reported quarter, Apple had garnered about $16.1 billion in revenues from Greater China, marking an increase of 70% year over year and 157% sequentially and the uptrend is likely to continue.

IBM currently has a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell). Another stock in this sector that can be considered is Top Image Systems Ltd. TISA sporting a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
