United Technologies’ Sikorsky’s iPad App for S-76D Copters

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. UTX, recently announced an iPad application to offer support for S-76D helicopters. This innovative iFly Sikorsky application is a flight calculator application that replicates performance calculations, configures an aircraft and evaluates its weight and balance.

This new application offers enhanced safety and efficiency by delivering new technologies in the areas of speed, autonomy and intelligence, which helps improve the safety and reliability of aircrafts. The user interface is conveniently designed for the pilots and helps with calculations during search and rescue missions. The strategic move by the company is aimed to deliver additional smart capabilities through this application for enhanced performance situational awareness. With more than 350 registered users of this new iFly Sikorsky application already for the S-92 aircrafts, demand for this technology in S-76D helicopters is set to rise.
