HCA Holdings, Inc. (HCA) recently entered into an agreement with Sharecare, the online health and wellness engagement platform, to create new digital patient engagement solutions. This endeavor is in line with the joint entity’s efforts to design a combined innovation lab.
Both the companies first came together in Dec 2013, whereby Sharecare launched its consumer-facing mobile health app, AskMD. Back then, HCA Holdings functioned as the health system sponsor for the app. Moreover, Sharecare established a custom workplace wellness platform for supporting a pilot program in one of the divisions of HCA Holdings.
Sharecare is a reputed name when it comes to aligning digital relationships with patients. It has been a pro in building and commercializing digital and mobile solutions to help people manage their health with an ease of just a tap on their phones. HCA Holdings intends to capitalize on this opportunity and utilize Sharecare’s expertise and resources to enhance the convenience and affordability of care for its patients.
Digitizing healthcare has been one of the most innovative ways how technology combines consumer convenience with services delivered. This not only makes it convenient for patients using the app to navigate through the available healthcare options but also allows healthcare providers with an option to get a better idea about the healthcare needs of patients. Thus, both ways, digitization benefits healthcare for patients thereby making it one of the most popular applications of technology. At this juncture of technological advancement, HCA Holdings’ association with Sharespace is expected to help it cater to its patients on a much larger scale thereby making way for more revenue generation.
