Ingram Micro Makes Mark Snider Senior VP of Canada Unit

Zacks

Technology distribution company, Ingram Micro Inc. (IM) has announced some organizational changes that will increase its business development and distribution capabilities across Canada and North America. The changes will enable the company to strengthen the working environment and ensure health and safety of its employees.

In this context, Ingram’s Vice President and General Manager – Mark Snider has been promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager of Ingram Micro Canada. Snider’s association with the company spans nearly over two decades, during which he has worked in all regions of the country, driving growth. With his experience and capabilities, the company is expected to touch new heights of success.

Ingram Micro will capitalize on Snider’s experience to leverage multiplatform capabilities to benefit its clients. Also, Snider’s knowledge of the entire Canadian region, along with a solid aptitude for managing clients, has led to his promotion.

The recent move is in line with the company’s strategy of expanding its relationships with numerous key vendors. Under Snider’s leadership, the company has expanded its association with companies like Cisco (CSCO), Citrix, DELL, Hewlett-Packard Company (HPQ), Intel (INTC), Lenovo, Microsoft, and Samsung.

Snider will supervise the Canadian channel partners and establish Ingram’s position in Canada as the largest value-added IT distributor and leading business enabler. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the Toronto University.

We believe that with such extensive experience in the world of technology, Snider is likely to be an asset for the company and will take it forward.

Separately, Ingram Micro has been seeing increasing orders from small & medium business (SMB) organizations in Europe, particularly in Germany and the UK. Ingram is now targeting the SMB segment in a more comprehensive way, not just in Europe but across all regions.

Ingram Micro has been striking distribution deals with a number of original equipment manufacturers thus expanding its product portfolio. Moreover, Ingram Micro’s exposure in cloud computing products is expected to remain its key growth driver.

We remain fairly optimistic about Ingram Micro’s strategic relationship with network giants such as Juniper Networks Inc. and International Business Machines. The company’s growing SMB exposure and improving profitability are encouraging. However, its significant European exposure and debt burden are concerns.

Currently, Ingram Micro has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
