OAKLAND, Calif., Dec. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Continuing Education of the Bar, California (CEB), the leading source for legal education and legal research solutions for California lawyers, has acquired Essential Forms. The addition of Martin Dean’s noted Judicial Council Forms software product adds depth and breadth to CEB’s Judicial Council forms offerings, and ensures the continued quality of this Martin Dean resource. There will be no disruptions for Martin Dean Essential Forms.
Martin Dean, president of Essential Publishers LLC, commented, “Last spring, my partner Bob Kehn and I looked at each other and one of us said ‘Between us we’re more than 140 years old.’ We wondered how we would support our customers into the next decade. Clearly it was time for us to find a successor that would carry on our work, and serve our customers just as well as we have. So, we began looking for a company that was most like ours to deliver editorial accuracy, consistently dependable software, and superb customer service. CEB was a perfect fit.”
“We’ve known the folks at CEB for more than a decade. We’ve always considered them to be part of our legal publishing family. That’s why we chose them as our successors. I am so pleased and excited that we’ve found such a fine team of people in CEB. I am absolutely confident that the next twenty years of unbeatable forms-making and electronic filing, like the first twenty, are in their competent hands.”
CEB Director Pamela Jester added, “We at CEB are thrilled to be entrusted with such a great product and look forward to a long relationship with Essential Forms customers.”
CEB is a self-supporting program of the University of California that is cosponsored by the State Bar of California. Founded in 1947 with the mandate to cultivate the professional development of California lawyers, CEB was the first organization to offer formal Continuing Legal Education in the state. CEB’s offerings have grown to include a wide array of award-winning practice books, guides, electronic products, and CLE programs.
