Amazon.com Inc.’s (AMZN) film production division, Amazon Studios, released its original dramatic comedy TV series — Mozart in the Jungle — on Prime Instant Video in the U.S., U.K. and Germany.
Mozart in the Jungle is a dramatic comedy series about an artist’s creativity and dedication to music which collides with mind games, and survival instincts. Produced by Roman Coppola, Jason Schwartzman, Paul Weitz and John Strauss, the star cast includes Gael Garcia Bernal, Saffron Burrows, Hannah Dunne, Lola Kirke, Malcolm McDowell and Peter Vack.
All 10 episodes of Mozart in the Jungle are available on Prime Instant Video. Management stated that the series can be viewed using the Amazon Instant Video app available on Amazon Fire TV, Kindle Fire tablets, Fire Phone, Apple's (AAPL) iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, Wii, as well as other connected devices.
Increasing popularity of tablets, smartphones and web-connected TVs has enhanced online-video viewing and continues to attract consumers as well as leading technology companies like Google. Therefore, Amazon is leaving no stone unturned to boost its digital media sales and attract new users, thereby focusing on dramatic comedy to expand its content line-up and make its Prime Instant video service more attractive to viewers.
