Peter Hug is in studio with Daniela Cambone, speaking about the continued strength in gold and how he thinks the metals markets will hold up. “I think most of the momentum is coming from the instability and uncertainty in the EU,” he says. “We’re starting to see some buying coming out of the continent.” Hug adds that given the uncertainty in Europe, the Fed is unlikely to make any monetary policy moves soon. “Everybody is interconnected here and I think the Fed will wait…I think that could create a situation where the Fed may not even move mid-2015, it may be delayed even longer.” Finally, he shares his insights on platinum, and it may be a market investors should look at. “Platinum crossed over below gold for the first time in two years about 10 days ago, recovered extremely quickly and is now trading at about a $20 premium to gold,” he says. “If you were to play gold and platinum, platinum looks interesting here.” Tune in now to get more insights from Peter Hug on this latest edition of “For Pete’s Sake.” Kitco News, October 21, 2014.
