Amazon’s Seller Holiday Deals to Get Bigger and Better

Zacks

Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) announced that for the first time, top deals from sellers during the holiday season will be available on local Amazon sites in India, Japan, EU, China and Canada. The seller holiday deals program was initiated last year in the U.S.

High customer traffic site features like Amazon Today’s Deals page, Black Friday Store and Cyber Monday Store will highlight holiday deals from the sellers.

Why the Expansion?

Amazon’s initial experience with the seller holiday deals program had been phenomenal. Last year, during the holiday season, Amazon saw record growth. The year 2013 saw more than a billion units being ordered worldwide from sellers on Amazon. Amazon’s high-traffic Cyber Monday store alone was responsible for more than 13 million units being ordered from the sellers.

Needless to say, the demand exceeded Amazon’s expectations last year. This year, the company estimates a manifold increase in sales compared to last year. Amazon wants to tap into the growth potential of this market with these deals.

On Amazon.com, customers will find thousands of for-limited-time holiday deals on high quality items this year. They will also be able to browse through other attractive offers available at extremely low prices. Popular categories like consumer electronics, toys and clothing will put up tempting offers.

How Will Sellers Gain?

The holiday deals program is open to sellers of all sizes. They can list their deals for popular holiday gifts using Amazon’s high traffic site features. Customers will be able to access a wide variety of deals each day through the holiday season.

Sellers eager to drive business during the holiday season can use Amazon’s popular platform to the best of their advantages. They will stock their products in Amazon fulfillment centers. Amazon will pick, pack, ship and provide customer service for the products (FBA program), in return. FBA items will be eligible for ‘Free Two-Day Shipping’ with Amazon Prime in the U.S
