F5 Networks’ (FFIV) F5 Traffix Signaling Delivery Controller (SDC) was chosen by BASE Company, a Belgian mobile operator, to support high-speed data transfer for its 4G network customers.
F5 Networks’ SDCs are being used by a number of operators and the current collaboration with BASE will help it to gain traction in Belgium. F5 Traffix SDC enables operators to manage huge data without disruptions which enhances customer experience.
On a separate note, the company recently unveiled the latest Synthesis of Software Defined Application Services (SDAS) for its flagship Big-IP solutions. SDAS is a networking approach, which helps to enable real-time, event-driven changes that meet the growing demand for data center solutions across the enterprise sector. Another important factor for choosing SDAS technology is that it is applicable for both private and public cloud infrastructures.
Further, F5 Networks entered into a partnership with VMware, Inc. (VMW) to provide cloud-based security services. The company will combine its BIG-IP application services with VMware vCloud Hybrid Service to make the cloud-computing environment more secure, simple, flexible and efficient.
We believe that the latest release will augment the demand for F5 Networks’ BIG-IP products, thereby securing revenue streams in the quarters to come. Moreover, these initiatives are expected to expand the company’s total addressable market (TAM) and result in new client wins.
Better execution and focus on enterprise and service providers have positioned F5 Networks well in the application delivery controller market. The company is also keen on expanding its cloud exposure. Nevertheless, the volatile spending atmosphere and competition from Juniper Networks Inc. (JNPR) and Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) remain the headwinds.
