FLIR Systems Unveils Low-Priced Imaging IR Thermometer

Zacks

FLIR Systems (FLIR) has unveiled its novel low cost TG 165 thermometer for fast and easy troubleshooting. This new imaging thermometer helps detect invisible heat patterns, measure temperatures precisely and conveniently store images and measurement data for reporting. The device – priced at $499 – is expected to be available with leading industrial test equipment retailers across the world by early October.

The TG 165 imaging thermometer is primarily beneficial to facility maintenance workers, contractors, electricians, HVAC techs, and homeowners, as it possesses greater capability to solve heating and electrical issues promptly and safely. Further, the thermometer comes with dual rotating lasers that visually mark the size and location of what is being measured, while clearly pinpointing the area of problem as a thermal image on the screen. While the thermometer can withstand rough usage in industries, it offers uncomplicated household use as well.

The imaging camera in the device is built around the advanced technology of FLIR System’s proprietary Lepton infrared sensor camera. This technology helps create sharp images and detect problems in advance, thereby avoiding risks related to heating and electrical connections.

In a separate development, the company has launched AX8 fixed-mount thermal imager which can be installed in space-constrained areas for automated and uninterrupted condition monitoring and fire prevention. This imager has also been built on the technology of the Lepton infrared sensor camera.

FLIR Systems is a leading company engaged in the designing, manufacturing, and marketing of sensor systems. FLIR's advanced thermal imaging and threat detection systems are used for a wide variety of imaging, thermography, and security applications.

Other companies worth considering in the scientific instruments and imaging instruments sectors include Arotech Corporation (ARTX), Mettler-Toledo International Inc. (MTD) and PerkinElmer Inc. (PKI).
