Skapat Energia Oy and Energiakolmio Oy will merge. Both companies are Finnish, and provide independent specialist energy management services. Together the companies will form a service group of nearly 200 staff with energy market expertise, and will be the leading energy management operator in the Nordic countries and the Baltic region.

The core competencies and customer groups of Skapat Energia Oy and Energiakolmio Oy complement each other, affording an excellent basis for future growth of the new group. In addition to Finland and Sweden, the new entity will operate in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The group aims to continue to grow in Finland by developing its service selection and to extend its operations in other countries in the Baltic region. The expected business income of the group’s service operations this year is around 18 million euros.

The group will have a unique energy management service selection with special expertise in energy-efficiency and electricity procurement, and improved resources to serve clients in the Baltic region. The entity has an extensive client base. It will serve energy users including small- and medium-sized companies, housing companies, major corporations, and municipalities.

Energy use of properties show potential for several billion euro savings

Skapat Energy Oy was founded in 1998. The company initially focused on electricity procurement optimization for its clients, but has since extended to enhancing energy efficiency of properties. The Swedish affiliate Skapat Energi Sverige Ab was founded in 2008 and currently has over 1000 long-term customers.

Energiakolmio Oy was founded in 1995 and provides companies and organizations with services relating to electricity procurement, sales, and enhancement of electricity consumption. Clients benefit through better-controlled energy procurement, cost savings, improved risk management, and optimization of profits.

In electricity procurement, Energiakolmio Oy and Skapat Energia Oy have followed different operating models tailored to the needs of different-sized customer companies. The group is seeking growth in energy-efficiency services in particular.

Skapat Energia Oy specializes in electricity procurement and energy efficiency, and is based in Hämeenlinna, Finland. The company has around 80 employees, with a turnover in 2013 of 7 million euros. The Swedish affiliate Skapat Energi Sverige Ab has 12 employees and over a thousand customers.

Energiakolmio Oy is the leading Finnish independent specialist in energy markets. The company’s head office is in Jyväskylä. The company has 90 employees and its net business income for 2013 was 8.1 million euros.
