Kohl’s Corporation (KSS) has launched its new DesigNation collection with designer Elie Tahari. Under Kohl’s concept DesigNation, the company showcases clothes from premier U.S. designers. The limited-period collection is inspired by various international destinations, with a different designer for every new collection launched. The collection is showcased exclusively at Kohl’s stores and the company’s website Kohls.com.
Inspired by the New York City, Tahari has used delicate, luxurious fabrics with subtle textures to give a modern, feminine and sophisticated touch in the collection. The collection includes dresses, sweaters, knit tops and bottoms and will cost from $40 to $175.
Kohl’s DesigNation collection was introduced in fall 2012 with designer Narciso Rodriguez and followed up by Derek Lam, Catherine Malandrino and Peter Som.
Last week, the company announced to partner with famous U.S. designer Michelle Smith under MILLY for its upcoming DesigNation collection featuring women’s apparel. The next range will be available exclusively at Kohl’s and Kohls.com beginning spring 2015.
Inspired from her recent trip to Capri, Italy, the MILLY brand will offer a complete range of dresses, skirts and tops in custom prints and vibrant colors, which will have the essence of Capri’s luscious landscapes and dazzling blue sea. The retail prices of apparels start at $38.
Kohl’s has been focusing on introducing new brands in order to keep the inventory assortment fresh and drive customer traffic to its stores and website. Through its DesigNation concept, the company helps to offer customers with more fashion options and is expected to drive top-line growth going forward.
Apart from DesigNation, Kohl’s continues to benefit from several private and exclusive brands like Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Rock & Republic, and Van Heusen brands. In 2013, Kohl’s launched an assortment of over 20 new national beauty and fragrance brands in over 250 stores and online.
Very recently, Kohl’s launched the much-awaited and Los Angeles-inspired lifestyle brand Juicy Couture in its stores and on its website. The luxury brand Juicy Couture showcased a casual collection for young girls aged 7-16 years. (Read: Kohl's (KSS) Launches Juicy Couture).
