ITT Extends Reliable, Low-Cost Connectors to Danish Railways

Zacks

Shares of ITT Corp (ITT) gained 0.15% yesterday after the company announced the completion of a connector upgrade project with Danish Railways. Two of ITT’s patented technologies — ITT Veam blue-Generation FRCIR series and ITT Cannon CA Bayonet connectors — helped the company provide a customized solution to upgrade over 5,000 critical power connections of the Danish Railways. This will allow the railway system to assure reliability even in harsh weather settings.

Electrical connectors between railcars are constantly exposed to adverse weather circumstances thereby making them prone to corrosion, leading to unplanned downtime. Both ITT Veam and Cannon can perfectly work with the existing technology which has enabled a smooth upgrade and ultimately bringing down the unplanned costs.

Further, these connector upgrades comply fully with RoHS and REACH compliant and ensure complete safety even amid inclement weather conditions. The connectors are protected with a zinc nickel plating which help them resist even the most severe environmental conditions which include exposure to 500 hours of salt spray and temperatures ranging from from –55C to + 125C (–67F to +257F).

Headquartered in New York, ITT is a focused multi-industrial company that designs and manufactures highly engineered critical components and customized technology solutions. ITT currently has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). Some other strong performers in the diversified operations sector include The Andersons, Inc (ANDE), Willdan Group Inc. (WLDN) and Clarcor Inc. (CLC). While Andersons and Willdan sport a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), Clarcor carries a Zacks Rank #2.
