Chicago Bridge & Iron Company(CBI) got a contract for the engineering and procurement of equipment and process modules for a new natural gas processing plant. The contract was awarded by Enable Partners LLC, which is part of Enable Midstream Partners (ENBL). The financial details were not disclosed.
Based in Oklahoma, the facility will use CBI’s NGL-MAXSM gas processing technology and will have a total processing capacity of 200 million standard cubic feet per day of gas. CBI’s natural gas liquids (NGLs) technology is widely used and has been deployed in over 30 engineering projects to date.
The technology helps in separating the components (or fractions) of NGLs and its natural gas stream by a distillation process known as fractionation.
Separately, in July, CBI, received a contract from Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company to provide the CDMtbe technology for a new 90,000 metric ton per annum (MTA) high conversion MTBE unit, the technology for a 41,000 MTA butene-1 recovery unit, and the NGL-MAXSM gas processing technology for a new 18 million standard cubic meter per day natural gas liquids (NGL) extraction plant. The NGL plant will be the largest single train gas plant designed by CBI.
CBI provides conceptual design, technology, engineering, procurement, fabrication, modularization, construction, commissioning, maintenance, program management and environmental services to worldwide customers for energy infrastructure. Its Technology segment offers licensed process technologies, catalysts, specialized equipment and engineered products for use in petrochemical facilities, oil refineries and gas processing plants, as well as provides process planning and project development services, and a comprehensive program for aftermarket support.
