Nor-Cal Beverage Company Sells Beer Distribution Rights to Markstein Beverage

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Nor-Cal Beverage Company, Inc. announced today that its Loomis, CA beer distribution division will be sold to Markstein Beverage Co. of Sacramento. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the year, pending supplier approval. The acquisition will result in an expansion of Markstein Beverage Company’s operation in Northern California to include Placer, El Dorado, Nevada, and portions of Alpine and Sierra Counties.

Nor-Cal is a major independent contract packer for world renowned companies. They manufacture chilled juices, cold fill carbonated and hot fill beverages with production facilities in West Sacramento and Anaheim. The Company also provides commercial food equipment maintenance services through its Equipment Solutions division, and owns and produces Go-Girl Energy Drink, which is currently distributed throughout nine western states, including California, Oregon and Washington. Nor-Cal intends to increase its’ focus on contract packing for other beverage companies.

Markstein Beverage Co. of Sacramento employs 290 team members and is a locally owned and independently operated beer distributor, bringing fresh beer to California’s local bars, restaurants, and grocery stores since 1971. Today, the company markets over 200 brands of beer, from light American lagers and Mexican imports to barrel-aged stouts and Belgian sours servicing Sacramento, Napa, Solano, Yuba, Sutter and portions of Yolo County.
