Peter Hug is back to talk gold, geopolitics and PGMs on this edition of “For Pete’s Sake”. He tells Kitco News that global unrest is still providing a floor for gold. “I still think that there’s an underlying bid to the gold market coming out of the Ukraine and, to some extent, coming out of the Israeli-Hamas situation.” Hug adds that the metal is also getting support from President Obama’s recent announcement allowing surveillance over Syria. He also comments on US durable goods orders that came out better-than-expected this morning, as well as whether or not he thinks the Fed will start to raise rates. Finally, Hug shares his thoughts on the record-breaking S&P 500 as well as the PGMs. Kitco News, August 26, 2014.
