Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. (SNI), a leading lifestyle media company, recently extended its existing 2-year contract with Clearleap. Privately held Clearleap is a leading provider of IP-based multiscreen video solutions for the TV industry. Though the financial terms of the renewed deal have been kept under wraps, Clearleap will continue to process, manage and distribute programming contents of Scripps Network.

Scripps Networks future plan primarily involve the monetization of its video-on-demand (VOD) contents. In synergy with the cable TV industry’s latest TVEverywhere technology, Scripps Networks is making its contents available for this platform.

The company is rolling out a series of website and mobile applications through which subscribers can view the company’s channels on mobile devices. Currently, around 65 million authenticated viewers can access Scripps Networks’ programs through different media platforms.

Since 2013, Scripps Networks has been implementing dynamic ad insertion (DAI) solution using Clearleap’s technology. DAI allows the company to come up with targeted advertising for VOD subscribers, starting from the fourth day of a program's original airdate. This considerably enhances the value of its advertisement portfolio.

Scripps Networks, with a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), has signed agreements with two large cable TV operators, namely, Comcast Corp. (CMCSA) and Time Warner Cable Inc. (TWC) VOD advertising program.

Scripps Networks utilizes Clearleap’s all-IP terrestrial publishing and distribution network along with its QAM-based video technology to transcode contents for multiple platforms.

Apart from Scripps Networks, Clearleap also supports major telecom and media companies such as, Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ), Time Warner Inc., British Broadcasting Corp. and Home Box Office Inc., to name a few. Clearleap is also expanding in the Latin American region.
