Available at retail stores nationwide, Oscar Mayer's Old World Style lunch meats come in 4-oz. bags at a suggested price of $3.29. Americans are eating 25% more sandwiches than they did in 2006. Thus the Old World Style lunch meats are expected to witness higher demand.
With changing consumer preferences, there is a huge demand for packaged products with unique flavors. The new products are in sync with this trend, which encourages consumers to quickly prepare meals at home and pack lunch for their children. These healthy deli meats comprise a protein portion of 8 grams each serving and spices.
With growing health consciousness among consumers, Kraft has been offering a variety of products with improved nutritional profile like Planters NUT-rition, Oscar Mayer Selects and several low-fat cheese options. The company has also reformulated its products to add beneficial ingredients like fruits, vegetables and vitamins.
The idea is to appeal to the growing numbers of health-conscious customers who prefer the convenience of packaged food. The company’s continuous efforts to introduce new products in the fast growing food categories bode well for long-term growth.
