Ford Motor Co. (F) has announced 6 separate recalls that cover about 100,610 vehicles in North America. The largest of the 6 recalls covers over 92,000 vehicles in which the right-hand halfshaft of the front axle might have been installed incorrectly and hence, could get detached over time.

Of these, around 83,000 vehicles have been recalled in the U.S., 8,200 in Canada and 600 in Mexico. The vehicles covered in this recall include the 2013–2014 Ford Taurus, Flex, and Interceptor, Lincoln MKS and MKT, 2012–2014 Ford Edge and 2014 Lincoln MKX.

The second largest recall covers around 5,264 Ford F59 commercial stripped chassis vehicles of model year 2011–2014. These vehicles can catch fire or lose electric power due to short circuit in the electrical system. However, Ford is not aware of any fire due to this problem.

The third recall comprises over 2,100 Ford Escape crossovers of model year 2014. The panorama roof glass of these vehicles might not be fixed properly, which can cause leakage or separation of the roof.

Another recall consists of 368 Transit Connect vehicles of the 2014 model year that were shipped to Puerto Rico. The brake reservoir caps in these vehicles have European labels, which flouts the U.S. labeling requirement.

The next recall is for 635 model year 2014 F53 motor home stripped chassis and F59 commercial stripped chassis vehicles. These vehicles may have faulty brake calipers.

The smallest of the 6 recall covers 197 Ford Fiesta cars of model year 2014. The fuel tanks of these vehicles may leak, creating a fire hazard.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries due to any of these problems. The automaker currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Some other automobile stocks worth considering include Meritor, Inc. (MTOR), China Automotive Systems Inc. (CAAS) and Autoliv, Inc. (ALV). Meritor and China Automotive sport a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), while Autoliv carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
