Shares of Ford Motor Co. (F) nudged up 0.47% on Jun 27 after the automaker unveiled the 2015 Ford Focus ST. The latest version of this 12-year old car was displayed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.
The 2015 Ford Focus ST features a sportier interior and exterior design, along with the option of three types of seat trims. It also provides an optional 18-inch alloy wheel design with red painted brake calipers, heated steering wheel and 8-way power driver’s seat. Moreover, the suspension and steering have been improved to provide higher responsiveness, agility and precision.
The car also features Ford’s 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with turbocharging, that provides maximum output of 252 horsepower at 5,500 rpm, and maximum torque of 270 lb.-ft. at 2,500 rpm. The 2015 Ford Focus ST also offers a six-speed manual transmission as well as improved gear ratios.
A central instrument pod has three additional gauges to display turbocharger boost pressure, oil temperature and oil pressure information. Further, the car features the Ford SYNC 2015 along with SYNC AppLink to assist the driver and enhance in-car connectivity.
Since the launch of the Focus ST in 2002, Ford has sold over 140,000 units of the vehicle in 40 countries globally. The automaker recently unveiled the 2015 Ford Edge as well.
