To advance the availability of high-speed wireless internet in hotels and resorts, leading communications equipment manufacturer Motorola Solutions, Inc. (MSI) has introduced an enterprise-class, dual radio 802.11ac access point (AP) for high quality internet speed.

The AP 7502 is a fresh 802.11ac, dual radio access point having four Ethernet ports, five internal antennas and BluetoothSMART technology along with other celebrated Motorola features like SmartRF and facilitates high speed internet connection. The device can be strategically placed to hide it from sight and fits in well with the décor of a hotel room.

In this regard, Motorola has introduced two more dual access points – the AP 7522 and AP 7532. Apart from its core function of providing high speed wireless for all kinds of mobile devices and applications, their sleek design ensure easy placement in public spaces and common areas. They also have optional antennae that can help extend the wireless range to the maximum.

In this effort, Motorola recently launched its fifth generation shopping wireless device – MC18 – that offers an advanced self-scanning facility to shoppers. The gadget is powered with Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) technology which helps customers trace products and avail promotional offers with the help of indoor maps. It also recommends complementary goods available in the store.

We believe the launch of such value-added services will drive the company’s top line higher. In the recently concluded quarter, Motorola reported disappointing financial results wherein both its top and bottom line missed the corresponding Zacks Consensus Estimate. Adjusted earnings per share of 40 cents were a penny shy of the Zacks Consensus Estimate. Quarterly total revenue of $1,801 million, although up 8.7% year over year, was short of the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1,821 million.

The stock carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
