Kitco News speaks with US Global’s Frank Holmes about bond auctions in Europe as well as some opportunities and threats in the gold market. Last week, Greece raised €3 billion through its first bond auction in 4 years, while Turkey sold €1 billion of 9-year bonds for the first time this year. Holmes says it is important for gold investors to focus on what is taking place in Turkey. “Turkey has a strong cultural affinity towards consumption of gold.” Looking over at “Gold’s Touchdown Pass” of the week, Holmes urges viewers to keep an eye out on the upcoming CPI numbers as well as the Fed’s Beige Book later this week. “It looks like there’s pressure for inflation especially when you look at soft commodities, they’ve been rising and that’s usually a precursor to rising inflation.” Tune in now to watch the latest edition of “Gold Game Film” with Frank Holmes.
