PITTSBURGH, Feb. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — ECHO Realty, LP is pleased to announce its 2014 purchase of Westgate Plaza, a 100,000 square foot Publix grocery-anchored center located at the intersection of Gunn Highway and Anderson Road in Citrus Park (Tampa), Florida. Westgate was constructed in 1986 and serves a strong and growing trade area comprising 88,000 people within a 3-mile radius of the site. The Publix store consists of 55,000 square feet and is complemented by a diverse range of quality specialty stores. Two bank outparcels, SunTrust and 5th/3rd Bank additionally support the creditworthiness and customer appeal of the center.

ECHO’s plans for the center include upgrading the “curb appeal” of the property and improving the merchandising of the retail program to enhance and expand customer patronage and shopper satisfaction. The property was purchased from a joint venture between Kimco and GE Capital which had owned the center since 2007. ECHO has appointed Crossman & Company of Orlando, Florida as local property manager and leasing agency at Westgate, working closely with ECHO’s Pittsburgh and Washington-based management and leasing teams.

ECHO Realty is a privately held developer and owner of grocery anchored shopping centers with offices in Pittsburgh, PA, Washington, DC and Indianapolis, IN. ECHO’s portfolio consists of over 175 properties located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia and Florida.
