HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Feb. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Camber Corporation today announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire the IT consulting services business of Avaya Government Solutions, a subsidiary of Avaya Inc. Avaya Government Solutions has been providing high-end, full life-cycle information technology consulting to government customers for over 20 years. It focuses on developing and delivering high end software and network engineering and program consulting services and secure collaboration tools to a variety of customers, all within an enterprise-wide CMMI Level 3 certified environment. Avaya will retain its Federal product sales and services teams and customers with continued focus on delivering unified communications, collaboration, contact center and networking solutions to Federal, state and municipal governments.

Camber’s new team will be an integral government enterprise architecture, IT and software engineering consulting group within Camber once the acquisition is complete. This acquisition will provide Camber with a more diverse base of business in the government marketplace, an expanded set of company-wide skills and capabilities, a larger catalog of contract vehicles for use throughout the Federal government, and improved opportunities for the combined workforce. The acquisition will significantly expand the reach and broaden the capabilities and qualifications of the combined company.

The transaction is expected to close within 90 days, subject to customary closing conditions, including the receipt of necessary regulatory approvals. The transaction will take the form of a sale by Avaya Inc. of the IT Professional Services consulting group of Avaya Government Solutions for an aggregate purchase price of $100 million. Upon the close of the transaction, Camber will assume its employees, customers and contracts.
