iotum Announces Third Acquisition in Nine Months, Integrates Gaboogie into Calliflower Conferencing Platform

Effective Friday, January 31, 2014, customers will use Calliflower services

PR Newswire

TORONTO, Jan. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — iotum has announced further expansion with the acquisition of Vancouver, B.C.-based conference provider Gaboogie and all its services, as it continues to roll up voice-conferencing-services providers and adding their customers to its conference-calling platform.

Gaboogie marks the third acquisition in the past nine months for iotum, operator of several popular and versatile collaboration and teleconferencing services, including Calliflower and FreeConfence.com. iotum previously acquired the business and assets Global Conference Partners and Rondee.

“As we did with our acquisition of Rondee this past summer, we are minimizing customer disruption. Gaboogie’s log-in IDs and PINs will now work with Calliflower,” said iotum President and CEO Jason J. Martin. “This allows Gaboogie customers continued use of audio-conferencing capabilities, including toll-free, but also provides them with call recording, document sharing, WebRTC access, automated invites, calendaring, text reminders and so much more.”

Effective immediately, Gaboogie’s existing customers will have access to an expanded suite of Calliflower services which offer higher-quality, high-definition audio and the opportunity to use Calliflower’s flexible WebRTC interface in addition to traditional dial-up access.

Gaboogie was founded in Vancouver, British Columbia, by IP communications industry pioneer and CounterPath founder Erik Lagerway, who said: “We’re very glad to have a great home for our loyal customers. We have worked with the iotum team to make the transition as simple as possible for our customers, who now have the even more robust and stable Calliflower to work with. Our customers will love it.”

Martin said that in addition to iotum’s organic growth in customers, the Gaboogie deal boosts his company’s user base and further amortizes its infrastructure and core technology, while reducing churn from the acquired properties. Terms were not disclosed.
