At the CES 2014 held this week, NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA) announced that Audi vehicles will now feature anew Infotainment System, Smart Display and Digital Cockpit driven by its Tegra Visual Computing Module (VCM).

.With access to the most advanced hardware system, Tegra VCM will enable carmakers to bridge the gap between consumer electronics and in-vehicle systems, which in turn is expected to benefit NVIDIA going forward.

Audi is one of the world’s leading carbrands. Therefore NVIDIA’s new in-vehicle system solution for this premium brand will increase the uptake of its offerings and enhance its growth prospects.

Moreover, Volkswagen’s Audi is expected to increase its sales target to $1.5 million in 2015. With this, NVIDIAis well poised tomaximize its customer base and boost revenues.

Apart from this, NVIDIA recently launched the 192-core Tegra K1 mobile processor, powered by Keplar technology, which provides an enhanced gaming experience for users. This SoC (System on Chip) is available in two versions and is increasingly being used in Google Inc's (GOOG) Nexus 7 and Microsoft Corp’s (MSFT) Surface tablets.

NVIDIA’s innovative product pipeline consists of the recently introduced SHIELD and the upcoming mobile processor Logan Tegra 4 processors.

Most of the competition comes from companies like Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD), Intel Corp. (INTC) and QUALCOMM Inc. (QCOM). The recent spike in operating expenses that is expected to hurt profitability in the near term is also a factor to considerbefore investing in the shares.
