Arrow Launches Global Training Alliance

Electronic component distributor Arrow Electronics Inc. (ARW) recently launched the Arrow Global Training Alliance, after it was selected as one of the four providers of International Business Machines’ (IBM) Global Training program. Fast Lane, a provider of IT training is the first to participate in this global program.The alliance will expand Arrow’s enterprise computing education coverage and infrastructure and also further strengthen Arrow's capabilities and offerings.

Arrow will provide an advanced platform that will target business critical areas like cloud computing, data mobility and security.Moreover, the program will offer complete training to clients that will help them stay competitive in the technical field.

The training program will incorporateIBM Systems training (IBM Power Systems, IBM PureSystems, IBM System Storage and Storage Networking), IBM System x and BladeCenter, IBM System z, Cloud Computing and IBM Software Training, all of whichbalance the workload across dynamic data centers and platforms.

For now, the Alliance will extend IBM Training in 60 countries and eventually take it toapproximately 130 countries in the course of six months.

Apart from this, Arrow’s core strength of providing best-in-class services and easy-to-acquire technologies are expected to bolster growth in the future. Moreover, the company has secured significant market share through its broad portfolio of products and services and continued efforts to maximize consumer satisfaction.

In addition, the company’s positive commentary about enhanced productivity, annual cost savings and expected contributions from Europe are encouraging.

However, a significant portion of the company’s revenues comes from the sale of semiconductors, which is a cyclical industry, characterized by changes in technology and manufacturing capacity and subject to significant market fluctuations. Moreover, the company’s European exposure can adversely affect total revenue growth.

Currently, Arrow has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Some of the better-ranked stocks that investors can look at are Western Digital Corp. (WDC) and Micron Technology Inc. (MU). While WDC sports a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), Micron carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
