Scripps Howard News Service Transitions Business to McClatchy-Tribune

CHICAGO, Nov. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — McClatchy-Tribune Information Services (MCT) today announced that it will add content from Scripps newspapers and selected commentators to its lineup and will begin serving Scripps Howard News Service (SHNS) clients as that storied syndicator ceases operation.

SHNS is closing after 96 years of syndication in order to commit greater resources to Washington coverage and investigative journalism.

MCT has reached agreement with Scripps to distribute news, commentary, features and photos from Scripps newspapers and bureaus, including content from a revamped Washington reporting operation.

MCT will begin incorporating the new content and working with SHNS clients immediately, with the transition to be completed by January 2014. MCT and SHNS clients will be offered the MCT service, expanded to include the most popular SHNS features.
