Dana Holding Corporation (DAN) announced that it will be launching a full range of Drivetrain solutions for the agricultural market in Agritechnica 2013. The company will launch a new line of modular axles and new drivetrain concepts suitable for combines and forage harvesters. It will also promote its advanced Spicer central tire inflation system and aftermarket service capacity.

Agritechnica 2013 is the biggest agricultural machinery and equipment trade fair and will be held from November 12 to 16, 2013.

The latest innovation from Dana is aimed at meeting market demand for specialized applications that provide better productivity. Dana works with agricultural equipment manufacturers to develop a variety of drivetrain solutions featuring upgraded technologies, which fulfill the local demand.

Dana’s new Drivetrain innovations include a line of Spicer steer axles. These axles can be produced in lesser time and support an assortment of customization options. The company is reducing its portfolio of agricultural axle models from 17 to 8. However, it will enhance the application range from 33 to 301 kW with a maximum output torque of 2,000 Nm to 40,000 Nm.

The new drivetrain concepts designed for combines and forage harvesters include new suspended steer axle and shift-on-fly transmission designs. The suspended steer axle offers better traction and stable weight distribution together with isolation from body vibration, which helps in enhancing operating comfort. The three-speed shift-on-fly hydrostatic transmission concept provides a cost efficient system for varying speeds in different field conditions.

Dana will also launch the Spicer central tire inflation system, which reduces the operating cost of customers as it reduces the use of fuel. Spicer CTIS also provides high mobility by adjusting the tire pressure according to terrain. It also enhances the tire life and vehicle stability. Under aftermarket service capabilities, Dana provides a wide range of replacement parts for agricultural applications.

Over the last 20 years, Dana has supported major automakers with its products including axles and driveshafts. Major customers include Ford Motor Co. (F), Mazda, Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. (NSANY), and Tata Motors Limited (TTM).

Maumee, Ohio-based Dana is one of the world’s leading suppliers of driveline, sealing, and thermal technologies, which improves the efficiency and performance of passenger, commercial and highway vehicles. Dana currently carries a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell).
