HELE’s Kaz Offers Three Humidifiers

Global consumer products company Helen of Troy Limited’s (HELE) wholly-owned subsidiary, Kaz, has offered three new varieties of Vicks humidifiers to relieve the U.S. kids from cough and congestion.

With the onset of the cold and flu season, the new humidifiers – Vicks FilterFree Cool Mist Humidifier, Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier and the pink color Vicks Starry Night Cool Moisture Humidifier – are surely going to be a hit among moms who complain that the dry air aggravates dry skin, stuffy noses and chapped lips among kids.

The Vicks humidifiers have been recommended by The American Academy of Pediatrics in nurseries and children's bedrooms during the winter months. The humidifiers are capable of elevating humidity levels to a range of 40%–60% in the rooms.

This reduces influenza survival in the air and on commonly-touched surfaces like sink faucets, door handles and countertops. The new varieties of humidifiers are compatible with Vicks Soothing Vapors VapoPads, coming in Vicks menthol and Sleepy Time lavender and rosemary scents.

Kaz, based in Southborough, MA, is a $500 million company selling market-leading products in over 65 countries under world-class brand names such as Vicks, Braun and Honeywell. It markets its products under license from companies such as The Procter & Gamble Co. (PG) and Honeywell International Inc. (HON).

In 1995, Kaz licensed the Vicks brand from the Procter & Gamble and has since developed a broad line-up of Vicks vaporizers and humidifiers. In 2011, Kaz was taken over by HELE to grow in the household and personal-care segment.

Helen of Troy currently holds a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Another consumer staples stock worth considering is Avon Products Inc (AVP) carrying a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
