Zacks

DuPont (DD) has been listed on the Carbon Disclosure Project's (CDP) S&P 500 Carbon Performance Leadership Index (CPLI) and Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI). DuPont scored 96 points for its disclosure of information related to climate change risks and opportunities. Alongside, it received an "A" grade for its emission reduction performance.

DuPont has also been listed on the North America Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and the CDP Global 500 Carbon Performance Leadership Index. Industrial giant Air Products (APD) was also recently named to the DJSI.

Double recognition by both CDP and DJSI for its achievements in sustainable growth further boosts DuPont’s initiatives taken for integrating sustainability into its business. DuPont started its sustainability work 20 years ago by setting voluntary footprint reduction goals. Its climate change strategy and global green house gas reduction efforts recognized by the CDP are impressive.

DuPont was selected for the recognition owing to the progress driven by its Bold Energy Plan, through which it accomplished 600 energy improvement projects and realized $30 million in savings. The CDP highlighted DuPont's market-facing sustainability goals that focus on the market it serves apart from just the operational footprint.

The CPD is a non-profit organization that provides the only global system for companies and cities to measure, disclose, manage and share vital environmental information. Representing 655 institutional investors with $78 trillion in assets, CDP holds the largest collection of primary corporate climate change and water data globally.

S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC is an unit of the world's largest, global resource for index-based concepts, data and research, McGraw Hill Financial, Inc., formerly known as The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc.

North America Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) is a sub-set of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. DJSI World records the performance of 2,500 leading companies worldwide and separately assesses their long-term economic, environmental and social performance. The top 10% performers are then selected from 59 industry groups.

DuPont carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). Akzo Nobel NV (AKZOY) and Eastman Chemical Company (EMN) with a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) are other good investment options in the chemical industry.
