GreenTeam to Refuel from Trillium CNG

Zacks

Waste Connections, Inc.’s (WCN) subsidiary GreenTeam recently formed a strategic partnership with Integrys Energy Group, Inc.’s (TEG) Trillium CNG business unit to help it build a new natural gas fueling station at its San Jose, CA facility. GreenTeam will use this fueling station to refuel its fleet of 18 new trucks that run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

GreenTeam provides waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services in exclusive and secondary markets. Apart from the fuel station, the facility will benefit from the station design, build, operation and maintenance that Trillium CNG brings to the market. It will also reap all benefits of natural gas. CNG is a more viable transportation fuel alternative as its pricing is not susceptible to global economic events and is thus more cost effective.

The strategic move by GreenTeam to invest in CNG infrastructure is expected to convert the entire fleet to cleaner burning fuel and is expected to minimize carbon footprint and improve air quality locally. Natural gas is the cleanest burning fossil fuel and this new station is focused on high performance fueling and energy efficient operations. Trillium CNG already has its expertise in fueling public transport fleets in much more economic and efficient manner and this collaboration further adds to strength to that.
