Science Applications International Corporation (SAI) is one among 13 awardees to have won a prime contract by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic. Valued at roughly $900 million for all awardees, the multiple-award contract carries a one-year base period of performance and four one-year options.
Under the contract, SAI will provide life-cycle support services such as research, development, test, evaluation, interoperable command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C5ISR), information operations, enterprise information services, and space capabilities. The company aims to continue its healthy business relationship with SSC by providing them with the best information technology solutions and catering to the requirements of its customers.
SSC Atlantic’s mission is to meet the demands for uninterrupted vigilance and cybersecurity by delivering secure and innovative solutions to naval, joint and national agencies. Through technological expertise, SAI aims to provide adequate support services to SSC and help the latter achieve its mission.
Also recently, SAI was awarded a prime contract of approximately $10 million by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to provide deep ocean acoustic detection for Transformational Reliable Acoustic Path Systems (TRAPS). Back-to-back contract wins will most likely be a growth driver for the company.
Since its inception in 1969, SAI has utilized its vast domain knowledge to solve critical problems of the country in areas such as national security, energy and the environment, critical infrastructure, and health. Headquartered in McLean, VA, the company presently has employee strength of approximately 40,000, serving customers in the U.S. Department of Defense, the intelligence community, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, other U.S. Government civil agencies and selected commercial markets.
