PR Newswire

HOLMDEL, N.J., Aug. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Jacobson, Goldfarb & Scott, Inc. is extremely proud and excited to announce the launch of its full-service, Employee Benefits and Human Resources Consulting Department. JGS acquired the business of Barry Fields and he has been named Vice President of Employee Benefits at JGS. Mr. Fields is charged with growing an employee benefits practice that provides hands-on support you would expect from a small firm combined with the expertise and resources of a larger consulting firm. Barry brings with him over 23 years of industry experience that included time as Sales Director for Health Net of the Northeast, Practice Leader for Consultants for Corporate Benefits, Inc. and most recently was the founder of Global Benefit Strategies. Mr. Fields remarked, “I am very excited to be associated with JGS Insurance because they recognize the importance of having the best tools, resources and overall capabilities to address the dynamic needs of each client. The time was right for us to join forces and create solutions for the mid-sized marketplace. Companies with greater than 50 employees face unprecedented changes and challenges, with often times very little strategic and proactive guidance.”

As a result of time spent on both sides of the insurance carrier and the consulting market, Barry and his team were able to identify areas of expertise and support that other brokers and consultants weren’t offering, and in turn established a suite of services to best meet the growing needs of mid to large size companies. Some of these important areas include: developing strategy for controlling health care costs; managing the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA); overall plan compliance with state and federal laws; effective employee communications; HR support tools; creating wellness programs that are suitable for your workforce and company culture; and serving as valuable advocates to its clients and their employees every day.

Vincent Hager, President of JGS Insurance said, “With all of the turmoil and confusion in the marketplace about the Affordable Care Act and the challenges of managing a benefits program, now seemed like the ideal time to expand upon the value proposition for our clients. We are allocating our resources to allow Barry to follow through with our vision by offering full-service consulting to the mid-sized marketplace. The goal at JGS is to be a trusted advisor to its clients, to guide them, help them develop and achieve their goals and objectives, and do whatever else needs to be done along the way.”

Since 1919, JGS has provided personal and commercial insurance services to clients in the Metropolitan area. In 1995, JGS expanded from its Metropolitan roots and started offering its services to clients across all 50 states. As one of the industry leaders for independent insurance brokers, JGS prides themselves in their vast market capabilities, with clients ranging from individuals to large multinational corporations.
