Delta Air Lines (DAL) announced the launch of new nonstop seasonal flights between Fargo, N.D. and Atlanta. The service will commence from Dec 21 and will be available only on Saturdays.

Delta – the second largest airline company in the U.S. after United Continental Holdings Inc. (UAL) – will execute the service via the two-class Canadair CRJ-900 of ExpressJet Airlines. These planes are designed with 12 First Class seats, 12 Economy Comfort seats and 52 seats in the main cabin. Additionally, there is the facility for on-board Wi-Fi connectivity.

Atlanta, Ga.-based airline unveiled the service to tap the increasing demand for flights from customers in the northern part of the nation, connecting to the warmer places in Southeast and Latin America during the winter season. This new flight system will enable the people in the North Dakota region to have easy access to numerous destinations across the nation as well as in overseas arenas through Atlanta.

We appreciate Delta’s constant endeavors to expand its operational base through the introduction of services interlinking various domestic and international spots. The company is on track to speed up the number of flights at the U.S. film city, Los Angeles’ international airport with daily year-round and seasonal services. The company also announced new seasonal non-stop flights every Saturday from December this year between Minneapolis and San Jose; Los Angeles and Belize City; and New York and Guatemala City.

Apart from network enhancement, Delta is progressing well on improving ancillary revenues by adding features to its services as well as introducing products to improve passenger satisfaction and experience, both in air and on ground. The company is also taking several initiatives to lower costs and is targeting $1 billion of cost savings over the next few years.

Delta operates with the likes of Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV) and JetBlue Airways (JBLU) and carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
