ABM Releases Sustainability Report

In compliance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), ABM Industries Incorporated (ABM) recently released its report on Corporate Sustainability efforts for fiscal year 2012. The report contains detailed information about the company’s practices related to Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) for both employees and clients.

The report divulged that as on Oct 2012, ABM served around 351 buildings, which are LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified green projects. Additionally, it highlights ABM’s success in fulfilling its commitment to expand services in key markets by acquiring Air Serv, HHA Services and Calvert Jones.

The report also observes that ABM’s Bundled Energy Solutions program managed to bring down its clients energy usage by 28.6%, thereby saving $3 million of client’s energy costs. In the report, ABM also stressed that it is currently working under numerous projects to provide advanced energy-related solutions. ABM’s contract with Wright State University (WSU) is expected to curtail the university’s energy consumption by 40%, helping it save a whopping $35.8 million in energy costs over a 15-year period.
