SAIC Gets Plum Contract from Navy

Government services provider, SAIC Inc. (SAI) recently announced that it has received a prime indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract from the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic. The contract entails it to provide services and solutions related to electronics and communications for the Decision Superiority (DS) portfolio.

SSC Atlantic is an integral part of the U.S. States Navy. It designs and develops command and control systems that support vital information and assist in decision-making process.

The contract initially offers a one-year period for performance evaluation with four one-year options for extension. The contract has been awarded to 15 companies for the completion of the task and aggregate approximately $900 million, if all the options are exercised.

According to the terms and conditions of the contract, SAIC Inc. needs to provide full-system and life-cycle support for the mission in key areas such as research, development, test and evaluation, surveillance, reconnaissance information operations, enterprise information services and space capabilities.

SAIC Inc. believes that its in-depth knowledge of life-cycle support will help SSC Atlantic achieve its mission and strengthen the U.S. defense.
