One of the wholly-owned subsidiaries of Apollo Group, Inc. (APOL), University of Phoenix, recently collaborated with Cleantech Open to introduce a new internship program. The program will allow its students and alumni to work with the officials of Cleantech Open and learn about the entrepreneurial process.

Cleantech Open is a not for profit organization that operates the largest Cleantech accelerator in the world. With a wide network of volunteers and sponsors, Cleantech Open works with both public and private sector companies to address energy, environmental and economic challenges.

As part of the program, students will work at the Cleantech Open national office in California or at other regional Cleantech Open organizations. They will have the chance to work at various programs and interact with Cleantech entrepreneurs participating in the program.

Education companies like Apollo and Capella Education Company (CPLA) have been witnessing volatile enrollment growth in the past few quarters due to the current economic scenario. Apollo is collaborating with various companies in the industry to make its programs more effective and thereby improve its enrollment.

Notably, Apollo announced its plan to enter into a partnership with The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) this week in order to provide more academic opportunities for hospitality professionals.

The partnership will provide EI students the opportunity to use their EI training and professional certificates and pursue advanced education. The partnership will also create a Credit Recommendation Guide (CRG), which will enable EI students to qualify for college credit while pursuing an undergraduate degree at University of Phoenix.

Apollo Group carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
