DARTMOUTH, NS, May 1, 2013 /CNW/ – Burlington, Ont.-based Pioneer Energy
today announced it has completed an agreement with Imperial Oil putting
Pioneer into the home heating and commercial fuels business in New
Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Pioneer Energy, through a wholly owned subsidiary operating as Pioneer Fuels, has entered into a long-term agreement with Imperial Oil to serve as
an Esso Branded Reseller. Pioneer has acquired seven bulk storage
facilities across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia as part of this deal.
The business comprises more than 17,000 home heating-oil customers as
well as commercial fuel business.

Pioneer’s Atlantic operations are headquartered at 24 Neptune Cres.,
Dartmouth, N.S. B2Y 4T2.

Pioneer is committed to growing its home Maritime business, said Brian
Kitchen, Vice President, Dealer and Reseller Sales for Pioneer Energy.
“To help us achieve continuity of service, the majority of existing
drivers and office personnel have been retained. We will also be
creating management, sales and administrative positions in Atlantic
Canada.”

Pioneer has contracted with Global Fuels Agency Inc. to handle fuel
deliveries. “Global Fuels is well established in Atlantic Canada as a
fuels transport carrier, and is working with local Esso Branded
Agents,” added Mr. Kitchen.
