Post+Beam Acquires Kairos 50 Fellow and Top College Startup, Kip Solutions

Acquisition Expands Social Media and Social Cause Practice

PR Newswire

NEW YORK, Feb. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Post+Beam (www.PostandBeam.is) has acquired Kip Solutions (www.KipSolutions.co), a social media, cause marketing company whose mission is to connect altruistic causes to their most passionate audiences.

The acquisition brings on board Patrick Ip, co-founder and CEO of Kip Solutions and 2013 fellow of the Kairos 50 (http://www.kairossociety.org), as an associate in Post+Beam’s growing social media and social causes practice. Mr. Ip will be based in Post+Beam’s New York office and work across all office locations, which include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Calgary.

“The partners of Post+Beam aren’t looking for just outstanding graduates from college, we’re looking for entrepreneurs and change-makers,” said Rowland Hobbs, managing partner of Post+Beam. “Patrick has already proven himself with Kip Solutions, not only by growing a business, but by creating positive social change with that business – and on a global level. His work exemplifies Post+Beam’s approach that brings together innovation and communication.”

Kip Solutions was recently listed on the 2013 Kairos 50, an annual list of the 50 most innovative student-run businesses in the world. The list recognizes companies that are doing cutting-edge work and solving problems. Mr. Ip will join fellow Kairos 50 nominees along with influential leaders on February 22-23 for breakout discussions at the 5th Annual Kairos Global Summit held on the trading floor of the NYSE.

The Kip Solutions acquisition follows the recent additions of three new Post+Beam partners: David Kalson as a senior partner in Post+Beam’s New York public relations practice; Territory Brand’s Michael Souter as a senior partner in Post+Beam’s New York design studio; and Jared Phillips as a partner in Post+Beam’s new Seattle office.

“Post+Beam has an impressive track record of creating change: social, grassroots and cause related,” said Mr. Ip. “Merging with the Post+Beam team is a great match since we’re both working to create a social impact through innovative and avant-garde design and strategy.”

Kip Solutions has worked with clients globally such as AMIS Cameroon, an organization that bridges the gap between farmers and consumers to reduce hunger and poverty for millions of Cameroonians, and PEPY, an educational development organization based in rural Cambodia working to empower all young Cambodians to achieve their dreams.

Kip Solutions will continue to run as a separate brand until June 2013 when it will be integrated into Post+Beam. Patrick has also dedicated half of his acquisition deal to charitable causes including the J. Luce Foundation and a scholarship for Modesto High School in Modesto, Calif., his alma mater.
