Universal Services of America Acquires RJWestmore, Inc.

PR Newswire

SANTA ANA, Calif., Nov. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Universal Services of America, one of the largest providers of security and janitorial services in the U.S., is proud to announce that they have acquired RJWestmore, Inc. For over 20 years, RJWestmore, Inc. has been providing safety and security solutions to commercial real estate companies across the U.S. Owner and founder of RJWestmore, Inc., the late Robert “Bob” James Westmore, was a pioneer in the training and development of national standards for fire/life safety.

While serving as CEO for Q:SIS, Inc., Mr. Westmore recognized a need in the commercial property industry for effective safety training for occupants of high-rise buildings. To address the need, he developed the RJWestmore Training System and to date that system has trained more than 600 million sq. ft. of commercial real estate clients across the U.S. With the simple goal “to save lives through training,” Mr. Westmore’s legacy extends far beyond the work he did through RJWestmore, Inc. He was fully committed to disaster preparedness, recovery and emergency management training—a cause that Universal is proud to continue.

Universal partnered with RJWestmore, Inc. over 15 years ago to develop all of their officer and fire/life safety training services, and have utilized the system exclusively to all of their clients that comprise close to 400 million sq. ft. of office space nationwide.

“We are pleased to make this announcement and carry on Bob’s work. Bob was one of my best friends, and he leaves behind a strong impression as one of the most committed and special people I have ever known. Universal is honored to continue delivering RJWestmore’s online fire/life safety services to their clients without any change or disruption,” said Brian Cescolini, Chairman and Co-CEO of Universal Services of America.

“We thank all of our clients for being flexible and patient during this transition. We have an unwavering commitment to the RJWestmore Training System and are excited to partner with Universal to carry on this important endeavor,” said Kimber Westmore, President of RJWestmore Training System.

“Mr. Westmore and his wife were close friends to Universal Services of America for many years and after he passed it was a natural progression to merge the companies and keep his life’s work going, as they provide a service that is essential to Universal’s business,” said Steve Jones, COO and Co-CEO of Universal Services of America. “The company name of RJWestmore Training System will continue, but will be branded as the RJWestmore Training System by Universal Fire/Life Safety Services. The services at RJWestmore Training System will not be interrupted by this merger; all employees will remain with the company and their website at http://rjwestmore.com/ will stay the same.”

As they move ahead with their recent expansion, Universal looks forward to continuing to provide their clients with the best security and janitorial solutions, personalized customer service and unmatched value available.
