Send the Trend Relaunches with QVC to Bring Shoppers a More Personalized E-Commerce Experience

QVC Acquisition, New Brands, Social Tools and Unique Content Give Shoppers More to Share

PR Newswire

NEW YORK, Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Send the Trend, Inc., an e-commerce destination known for on-trend, accessible fashion and a customized shopping experience, is celebrating the company’s acquisition by QVC with a relaunch that includes a broader range of premier beauty and accessory products, and a newly designed site that offers shoppers even more recommendations and content that can be easily shared over their social networks. Acquired by QVC in February, Send the Trend leverages proprietary technology – with unique algorithms – to deliver monthly, personalized shopper recommendations filled from an expanded product assortment, including Send the Trend branded collections and selections from QVC’s diverse product portfolio of prestige brands in jewelry, fashion accessories, beauty, hair care and skin care categories.

“The teams at QVC and Send the Trend share a passion for bringing the customer what she wants, in the way she wants it,” said Claire Watts, QVC U.S. CEO. “We consider Send the Trend to be a speed boat of innovation, an opportunity to experiment and develop new ways to interact with the customer with a shared goal of providing a unique, personalized experience.”

Through the QVC acquisition, Send the Trend will feature a broader assortment of brand offerings, including IsaacMizrahiLive!, Muxo by Camila Alves, Spanx by Sara Blakely, Judith Ripka, Kenneth Jay Lane, LOGO by Lori Goldstein, Dooney & Bourke, L’Occitane, Bliss, philosophy, Tarte, and Smashbox, among many others.

Send the Trend’s redesigned site will continue to deliver customized collections of fashion-forward accessories, jewelry and beauty must-haves directly to shoppers, and will roll out new social shopping features, including:

  • New interface and editorialized layout
  • A live feed that includes product updates, aggregated social network posts and site information.
  • The innovative My Style feature, enabling shoppers to curate their favorite products into e-boutiques and share their selections with friends and family.
  • A Send the Trend incentive program to reward loyal customers with credits redeemable on the site.

“The relaunched site is a truly social shopping destination,” said Divya Gugnani, co-founder of Send the Trend. “We are taking the common offline experience that women have over the weekend, perhaps while at the mall, chatting in a fitting room, and bringing that to customers online.”

“We created Send the Trend to eliminate the overwhelming atmosphere of shopping in department stores while offering better value over boutique shopping,” said Mariah Chase, co-founder of Send The Trend. “By adding great QVC brands and more social features to the site, our customers can now enjoy a more robust curated shopping experience and the fun of interacting with friends and family.”
