TROY, Mich, Aug. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — MOTOR Magazine announced today that it received a number of editorial and design awards for work published in 2011 from three organizations–the Trade, Association and Business Publications International (“Tabbies”), the International Automotive Media Awards and the American Society of Business Publication Editors (“Azbees”).

MOTOR Magazine won two gold 2012 Tabbie Awards–in the category of Regular Column for Karl Seyfert‘s Trouble Shooter column, and in the Technical Article category for Bob Pattengale‘s “Diagnosing Ford Misfires.”

This year, the Tabbie Awards competition featured nearly 500 entries, with nominations coming from a number of countries in addition to the United States, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, France, India, Singapore and South Africa.

MOTOR Magazine also was recognized in a big way at the 21st Annual International Automotive Media Awards, winning six Medallions–two Gold, three Silver and one Bronze. They break down as follows:

Gold Medallion:

  • Best Single Issue over 100,000 circulation: August 2011
  • Best Editorial: Editor’s Report, John Lypen

Silver Medallion:

  • Column/Blog/Series: Trouble Shooter, Karl Seyfert

Lastly, Karl Seyfert‘s Trouble Shooter column earned a prestigious 2012 Gold Azbee Award (for the Midwest-South Region) in the category of Staff-Written Regular Column.

Earlier this year, the annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards — which some refer to as “the Pulitzer Prize of the business media” — named MOTOR’s Editor’s Report as a finalist in the Best Commentary category.
