LOS ANGELES, Aug. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Hennessy, the world’s number one selling cognac, has partnered with revolutionary graffiti artist Futura to design a limited-edition bottle that celebrates cognac and street art. Each Hennessy V.S. bottle is adorned with signature Futura artwork and individually numbered. The new design includes bold, forward-thinking use of color, line and form that speaks to the innovative style of the artist.

“Futura embodies the notion of ‘never stop, never settle’ with his cutting-edge design of our new limited-edition bottle. Spirited and unbounded, Futura’s bottle design captures the unique energy and bold colors that have made him one of the world’s most sought after graffiti artists,” said Rodney Williams, SVP Hennessy USA. “It’s a fresh adaptation that brings together Futura’s artistic roots and the DNA of the Hennessy brand in a novel, highly creative expression that commands attention.”

On the heels of the limited-edition bottle launch, Hennessy also partnered with the Pratt Institute, one of the world’s leading colleges of art, design and architecture, to celebrate both organizations’ commitment to excellence and innovation. Eight students, hailing from all over the world, participated in a competition with Futura as mentor where they created works of art that interpret Hennessy through their chosen mediums. As an incentive, Hennessy gave each student the chance to earn seed money to jumpstart their career and a trip to Paris, France.

“It is an honor to design for a brand like Hennessy, because of their strong connection to and support of art,” said Futura. “When working within this new medium, I was able to challenge myself, go a step further and reach street art lovers through a revolutionary new design.”

The Hennessy V.S Limited Edition bottle by Futura retails for $32.00 (750 ml) and is available at fine retailers nationwide starting August 15, 2012.
