ASHLAND, Ore., Aug. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Brammo and electric motorcycle racers competed this weekend at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in the FIM ePower International Road Racing Championship. Team Icon Brammo took second and third place with riders Eric Bostrom and Steve Atlas.

Brammo’s newest rider, Eric Bostrom, who has over two decades of experience riding for companies such as Ducati, Harley Davidson, and Honda, finished third overall with a time of 14’44.858 and an average speed of 132.183 Km/h—an impressive feat considering he had ridden the Brammo bike only once before. Teammate Steve Atlas finished in second place at 14’34.963 with an average speed of 133.678 Km/h, just 2.903 seconds behind first place winner Michael Barnes of the Barracuda Lightning race team.

“Even with Barnes setting a blistering pace, it was cool to see my teammate Atlas up there with him—pushing me to ride even faster,” said Bostrom at Laguna Seca. When asked about the performance of Brammo’s racing bike, the Empulse RR, Bostrom said “It put a big smile on my face and surpassed all my expectations.”

“Team Icon Brammo is very pleased to come away from the FIM ePower/TTX Championship at Laguna Seca with its first double podium,” said Team Icon Brammo Manager Brian Wismann. “Steve and Eric are pumped up and feeling confident following their stellar performances on Sunday.”

Team Icon Brammo’s next race will be the TTXGP, The TTXGP North America Championship 2012, at Miller Motorsport Park from August 31 – September 2, 2012.
