PLANO, Texas, July 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — ViewPoint Bank signs now can be seen along Preston Road in Dallas, as the four Highlands Bank locations there opened today as ViewPoint Bank.

ViewPoint acquired the Highlands locations in April as part of its merger with First National Bank of Jacksboro (FNBJ), which operated under the Highlands name in Dallas. The conversion of Highlands‘ computer systems, accounts and branches took place over the weekend.

The merger gives the Plano-based community bank a total of 29 locations in the DFW Metroplex, as well as two FNBJ locations in Jacksboro and Runaway Bay. While FNBJ’s computer systems and accounts also converted to ViewPoint’s systems, the 122-year-old FNBJ kept the First National Bank name.
