II-VI Infrared Continues to Expand CVD Diamond Facility

PR Newswire

SAXONBURG, Pa., May 31, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — II-VI Infrared is continuing to expand its Saxonburg, PA CVD diamond facility. This optical CVD diamond is being used in applications including multispectral laser optics, dielectric windows, and other applications. More recently, the CVD diamond is being used to handle extreme laser powers, including those in EUV lithography. The properties of CVD diamond, such as excellent thermal conductivity, coupled with II-VI Infrared’s band-selective thin-film coatings, enable CVD diamond optics to withstand extreme output powers across a wide range of wavelengths, from the ultraviolet through the far-infrared output of CO2 lasers.

II-VI Infrared’s CVD diamond is laser-cut to customers’ specifications. Thicknesses are available from tens of µm to over 2 mm, with substrate diameters available up to 80 mm. A wide range of surface finishes, surface grades, and material grades are also available.
