TASC Wins Three Task Orders to Support DHS Domestic Nuclear Detection Office

PR Newswire

CHANTILLY, Va., May 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has awarded TASC, Inc. three task orders to provide its Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) with advanced systems engineering and integration and other decision-support services. The task orders are valued at a total of $54 million, including base and option years.

“Any failure of our homeland security systems could have catastrophic consequences. Our goal is to support the DNDO with assessments of the operational employment, technical capabilities and performance levels of its systems before they are deployed in the field,” says Bruce Phillips, vice president of Infrastructure Protection and Security at TASC. “Few companies can do what TASC can do: We assist our national and homeland security customers with systems engineering expertise and analytic insights that help them make informed technology and acquisition decisions for the long term.”

TASC will provide full life-cycle support to the DNDO Architecture Directorate, the Product Acquisition and Deployment Directorate and the Systems Engineering and Evaluation Directorate. Services will include mission and architecture analysis, systems engineering, test and evaluation, and modeling and simulation.

“One of the toughest challenges today is balancing homeland security objectives with resource constraints,” says Phillips. “Good systems engineering helps ensure systems are capable, agile, effective and affordable.”
