SAIC Awarded Contract by Department of Homeland Security

Company to Provide Tactical and Mission Critical Communications Services

MCLEAN, Va., May 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide tactical and mission critical communications services to the DHS community. The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a two-year base period of performance, three one-year options, and a total contract value of approximately $3 billion if all options are exercised.

DHS is responsible for securing the nation from threats, protecting from and responding to terrorist attacks, man-made accidents and natural disasters. Under the contract, SAIC will provide tactical and mission critical communications services to the DHS community as required, including tactical command, control and communications (TC3) engineering and infrastructure services, and tactical command, control, communications and computers (TC4) operations and maintenance services. SAIC is one of 30 contractors awarded and eligible to compete for task orders under the contract.
