ITASCA, Ill., May 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (NYSE: AJG) today announced the acquisition of Schiff, Kreidler-Shell Insurance and Risk Services headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

With operations dating back to 1876, Schiff, Kreidler-Shell Insurance and Risk Services (SKS) is a retail insurance broker providing property/casualty, employee benefits and risk management insurance and consulting services to their clients throughout the central United States. They specialize in the construction, agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare and financial service industries as well as cultural and social service non-profit organizations. Thomas R. Dietz and his colleagues will continue to operate from their Cincinnati and Edgewood, Kentucky locations as Gallagher SKS under the direction of Thomas J. Gallagher, head of Gallagher’s Midwest retail property/casualty brokerage operations.
